Sun protection helps against wrinkles

A well-arranged solar cream helps better against wrinkles than expensive special creams.

That’s the conclusion of the study of the well-known American consumer’s magazine “Consumer reports”.
A cream which promises to let the face look young again costs sometimes $100 and more. However, a well-arranged solar protection you’ll get already for less than 10 percent of this price. And the effect for the skin is the same if not even the solar cream protects better protects against wrinkles than one of the expensive Anti Aging serum. To this result a study of anti-pleated creams came by order of the American consumer’s magazine “Consumer Reports”.

Neither the ingenious high-tech emulsions of the luxury-cosmetics lines nor the cheaper products from the chemist’s shop market can redeem her wholehearted promises. More still, the price generally states nothing about the effectiveness. Thus the US testers thought that cream Olay Regenerist had a better effect than all the others. The cream belonged to the most favorable skin care in the test. On the other hand the most expensive product, La Prairie Cellular, took a short-cut especially badly.

Hence, study attendant Nancy Metcalf also ascertains practically: None of the products will transform anybody into the smooth-membranous young model from the respective advertising campaigns, except one is actual at most 27 and has generally still no wrinkles.

Only good solar protection preserves from wrinkles

For the test at least 17 women have used one of nine checked creams during twelve weeks for facial half between 30 and 70 in each case. On the other side they applied an easy humidity cream with solar protection factor. Measuring instruments for the pleated depth and photos of the skin around the eyes where the so-called crow’s-feet form should document the skin change in the investigation period.

All together all nine products showed only the small effect which was very different, however, for the test participants. Thus the active substances of single creams to the surprise of the dermatologists showed once a certain effect, they remained another spot absolutely ineffective.

In one the skin experts agreed: With a solar protection cream you can prevent that the ultraviolet light generally allows to originate wrinkles. Dermatologist Susan Weinkle of the University of South Florida says “Who does not protect his skin against the sun, so much anti-pleated cream can apply as he wants. It will cause practically nothing.”
